Paper’s aim is to identify the potential of the tissue and associated practices as strategic resources for the collective care of mental health, especially from the perspective of nursing discipline in dialogue with other knowledge. The thought starts from some cases of the Greek mythology and Latin American indigenous context. Later, relationship with the femenine, life’s care and everyday life, are shown. Finally, the relationship between fabric and life care to show the lessons learned from experiences where fabric, embroidery and sewing have been consolidated as strategic resources for mental health care that recognizes the subjects and their subjectivities in contexts of intense suffering such as produced by armed conflict and prolonged structural violence.
