UNA MIRADA A LA TERRITORIALIDAD: SIGNIFICACIONES CONSTRUIDAS EN EL ENTORNO CARCELARIO

Resumo

Recognizing the prisons as places which need a high attention due to the population that they incorporate, it has been a little intervened and slightly studied social context. This paper presents the results of a research paper on a complex problem in prison settings which is the overcrowding, taking it as an analysis object from the concept of territoriality as the central subject of interest; it is to understand the significances built from three inmates in the sense of what it is included territoriality taken through three types of territories and the place of regularity, roles and power, as general categories of the research exercise. A qualitative design was raised from the phenomenological paradigm through investigative techniques such as observation, interviews and cognitive maps. The work presented here concludes on those aspects that blend together to create a social organization legitimized as the territorial structures and the location of the exercise of power and role of each person. This way help us aim to he understanding of territoriality as an issue that plays an important role in the structuring of this form of governance established by the inmates and legitimated in everyday life, from individual and group structures of physical and social space that is at stake.
