This research study explores the processes through which creative writing teaching and learning is approached in an English Integrated-Skills II classroom of the Foreign Language Undergraduate Teaching Program at Universidad del Valle, in Cali. The ultimate aim of the study was to motivate students in their learning of English by exposing them to new methodologies, namely by having them write a folk tale based on specific Colombian cultural symbols.
