Online Interactions and Their Intercultural Component: The Case of Galanet, A Platform Dedicated to Interunderstanding Between the Romance Languages

Abstract

This article presents the partial results of a study whose main purpose was to analyze the emergence of the intercultural dimension in the interactions in the Galanet platform, created to develop the intercomprehension in romance languages. To do so, we analyzed all the interactions (forum and chat) of one of the sessions in the platform and administered a questionnaire to the participants. The method of analysis was qualitative. The results showed a predominant contrastive purpose in the interactions and the absence of some of the characteristics of the intercultural competence.
