- Artistic knowledge applied in video games. The artistic fundamentals application and the influence of Seurat, Friedrich, Escher and Hokusai artists in their aesthetics

In this article, the importance of artistic knowledge is examined in order to apply it later to the video games field. The most important artistic fundamentals such as anatomy, composition, perspective, depth, light, shape and color are studied, exposing examples of their application, both in painting and in video games, and presenting how these can be applied in video games in order to improve their aesthetics. In the same way, it briefly analyzes how artists such as George Pierre Seurat, Caspar David Friedrich, Mauris Cornelis Escher have been able to influence the aesthetics of video games such as Carrion (2020), Journey (2012) and Monument Valley (2014). Finally, the case study of the video game GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon (2022) is exposed through the work of the artists Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Kuniyoshi as reference, also applying the artistic foundations.
