In this article I will describe and analyze the forms of resistance that Audre Lorde postulates towards racism, sexism and homophobia in the articles and speeches gathered in Sister Outsider. My pretension is to demonstrate that these texts can be understood as systematical political interventions that aim to build spaces of expression for the voices of all those historically relegated subjects. Following the concepts of Gender Studies, and more specifically the theoretical productions of Black Feminism, I intend to prove the importance of Lorde’s contribution in the construction of the concept of intersectionality as well as the visibilization of multiple situations of violence within the black community.
