This is Alonso Aristizábal's first poem book. He has already pub lished two stories, two novels and two essays. Without a doubt his poems are part of one ofthe attempts ofthis writer to create his own world. That's why in this article it has a lot of sense what Octavio Paz says: "Poetry is a prayer to the space, a dialogue with absence. It is fed by tedium, anguish and desperation". It is well known that there is something called fidelity to poetic expression that not everyone receives. Anyway this is Aristizábal's case, it is reflected and it can be read in the initial poems of his book. That kind of poetry fertilizes his first experience and germinates offering fruits. But poems also configure new aspects of the brief and enduring existence of men and women in our world. 'However it is necessary to mention other subjects on the book Poems paths on earth: conception and experience of time, a philosophical and universal problematic. In poetry the time involves memory.
