Abstract

In this essay the life and work of José Asunción Silva (1865-1896) is presented. Supreme Writer advocated cinematic narrative techniques in his novel, the narrative style Art nouveau and psychoanalysis sessions. For this reason it is known as “The advance”, painter, poet, philosopher being suicidal author thirty years late and posthumous publication and dissemination constitutes essential for access to universal literature of the nineteenth century that opens the modernist work of art of the twentieth century.
