This lecture is divided into three parts: the first I will do an overview of the copies of Cervantes Novelas from a wide to the general public of students here present perspective. The second examines one of the main features of these novels: the perspective of border lives on Cervantes, located on the fringes of society, and his interest in the 'other', often located in the periphery of the Spanish Empire. The third part, developed from the analysis of the novel El amante liberal focused vision of Cervantes Mediterranean during the modern-it is time to say, during the sixteenth and seventeenth-with all its complexity centuries, and the author's interest by phenomenon of "rogue" - Christian converts to Islam- and crossing cultures in the territories of the Ottoman Empire.
