Three novel trimetallic materials based on NiMgCr, NiZnCr and NiCuCr were obtained by the hydrothermal method. Solids were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) where was confirmed the formation of the hydrotalcite-like phase. Thermogravimetric (TGA) and thermal differential (DTA) analyses of the precursors show phase transitions above of 400°C. These techniques together with elemental analyses allowed obtaining the chemistry formulas of the materials. Hydrotalcites were treated thermally to obtain the mixed oxides, which were tested in the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane reaction at space velocity of 50 g.ml-1.min-1 and temperature range between 250 and 500 °C. NiMgCrcal catalyst had the best performance with 14.8% conversion and selectivity to propene over 25%.
