Zoning of hazards by landslides starting from the model Mora and Vahrson

Abstract

Today, the cities facing multiple hazard, natural and anthropogenic, urban problems  which, in turn, has a certain relation with the development of communities, however, when the natural forces joined incidence human will lead to disaster occur. Is it therefore, that in this research presented a zoning of the hazard to landslide in the neighborhood Mortiñal, located in the hillside area to the Northwest of the mu- nicipality of Santiago de Cali. The study was conducted through the application of the method of Mora y Vahrson, which identified the areas most affected and occurrence of the phenomenon of landslides in the study area. Obtained as a result of zoning, than the corre- sponding hazards areas high and middle are the most representative in the retrieved map. For that reason, have to work with local communities, in first step to meet the risk you are exposed and to establish management measures to minimize future damage generated by this type of hazard in the study area.
