The paper provides an analysis of a series of articles in which GiorgioAgamben presents a reading of the problem of the dynamis. This discussionis crucial not only for understanding his participation in the contemporaryphilosophical–political debates, but also for understanding the conceptualimplications of the concept of “Life” in the framework of his own philosophy. For this purpose, we evaluate in the light of the interpretation of LatinAverroism, firstly, the Agambenian reading of the Aristotelian topic of“passive intellect” as well as the consequences that Agamben extracts forThought and Politics. And secondly, we build an interpretation of what wecall a “potential life”. Bartleby, a literary figure of the power that emergesas one of the possible modes of political resistance, becomes then an exampleof this notion.
